Assetiverse Community Guidelines

Effective Date: January 1, 2026

Welcome to the Assetiverse Community

These guidelines help ensure Assetiverse remains a respectful, helpful, and trustworthy marketplace for everyone. They apply to all user-generated content including reviews, ratings, comments, and creator profiles.

By participating in the Assetiverse community, you agree to follow these guidelines.

1. Reviews and Ratings

1.1 Write Honest Reviews

Your reviews help other users make informed decisions. When writing a review:

  • Be honest — Share your genuine experience with the asset
  • Be specific — Explain what worked well and what didn't
  • Be constructive — Provide feedback that helps the creator improve
  • Be relevant — Focus on the asset's quality, functionality, and value

1.2 Rating Guidelines

Use the star rating system fairly:

Rating When to Use
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars) Asset exceeds expectations, excellent quality
⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 stars) Asset meets expectations with minor issues
⭐⭐⭐ (3 stars) Asset is acceptable but has notable shortcomings
⭐⭐ (2 stars) Asset has significant issues affecting usability
⭐ (1 star) Asset does not function as described or is unusable

1.3 What Makes a Good Review

Good review example:

"The model is well-optimized with clean topology. The textures are high quality at 4K resolution. One small issue: the UV mapping on the handle could be improved. Overall, great value for the price and works perfectly in PlayCanvas."

Poor review example:

"Bad. Don't buy."

2. Prohibited Content

2.1 Never Post

The following content is not allowed anywhere on the platform:

  • Spam or advertising — Unsolicited promotions or links
  • Fake reviews — Reviews for assets you haven't used, or paid/incentivized reviews
  • Self-reviews — Reviewing your own assets (positive or negative)
  • Harassment — Personal attacks, threats, or bullying
  • Hate speech — Content targeting individuals or groups based on protected characteristics
  • Illegal content — Anything violating applicable laws
  • Private information — Personal data about others without consent
  • Impersonation — Pretending to be someone else
  • Malicious content — Links to malware, phishing, or scams

2.2 Review Manipulation

The following review practices are prohibited:

  • Offering or accepting payment for reviews
  • Creating multiple accounts to post fake reviews
  • Organizing review campaigns to artificially inflate or deflate ratings
  • Threatening creators for better reviews
  • Creators offering incentives for positive reviews

3. Interacting with Creators

3.1 Questions and Support

When reaching out to creators:

  • Check if your question is answered in the asset description or documentation
  • Be clear and specific about your issue
  • Include relevant details (software version, error messages, screenshots)
  • When asking for support, specify your PlayCanvas Engine version (e.g., v1.65) and whether the issue occurs in the Editor or at runtime
  • Be patient — creators may not respond immediately
  • Keep communications professional and respectful

3.2 Feedback and Criticism

Constructive criticism is welcome. When providing feedback:

  • Focus on the work, not the person
  • Suggest specific improvements
  • Acknowledge what works well alongside issues
  • Avoid demanding free updates or features

4. Creator Responsibilities

4.1 Accurate Descriptions

Creators must:

  • Provide accurate, complete descriptions of their assets
  • List all included files and formats
  • Disclose any limitations or known issues
  • Keep descriptions updated

4.2 Responding to Reviews

Creators should:

  • Respond professionally to all reviews, including critical ones
  • Never retaliate against users who leave honest negative reviews
  • Use feedback to improve their assets
  • Report reviews that violate these guidelines (not just negative reviews)

4.3 Creator Profiles

Creator profiles and display names must:

  • Not impersonate other individuals or companies
  • Not include contact information for off-platform transactions
  • Not contain prohibited content
